Active Petitions
Petitions are an important tool for PAN member organizations. They allow you to contribute to nature conservation in a simple and effective way. Every signature strengthens resistance against environmental destruction and helps preserve valuable alpine landscapes.
Here you will find current petitions from our members concerning threatened regions in the Alps. Support them with your signature and take a stand for the protection of our mountains, rivers, and glaciers!
Stop the Kaunertal Hydro Power Plant Expansion!
The Ötztal Alps, with their vast glaciers, hold one of the last great water reserves of the Eastern Alps. However, the planned expansion of the Kaunertal Power Plant poses catastrophic risks for both people and nature. Up to 80% of the water from the Venter and Gurgler Ache rivers is to be diverted, severely impacting water supply throughout the Ötztal valley.
At the same time, a 120-meter-high dam is planned in the untouched Platzertal. 63,000 square meters of vital moorlands would be lost forever, even though wetlands are crucial in combating climate change. A sustainable energy transition must not come at the cost of the last intact natural landscapes.
WET – Wildwasser erhalten Tirol demands:
- The immediate halt of the Kaunertal power plant expansion
- The protection of the last ecologically intact alpine rivers
- The preservation of alpine landscapes like the Platzertal
- A nature-friendly energy transition

Save the Dolomites: Dolomites, Sassolungo Group in danger
The Langkofel Group, a unique natural landmark in the Dolomites, is at serious risk! Large-scale construction projects threaten its pristine landscapes, essential water sources, and fragile ecosystems.
Sign the petition from Nosc Cunfin and help protect this natural treasure!
- For the designation of the Langkofel Group, including the untouched Cunfin-Böden and Steinerne Stadt, as a protected natural park
- Against real estate speculation in mountain regions and the exploitation of the Dolomites

No More Glacier Development in Tyrol!
After the temporary success against the Pitztal-Ötztal glacier connection, Tyrol is facing another major challenge. Despite a clear signal from the public in favor of glacier protection, ski resort operators in Pitztal and Kaunertal are planning new lifts that would encroach on untouched glacier regions.
These expansion plans would not only irreversibly alter the landscape but also permanently damage the delicate glacier ecosystem.
We demand an immediate halt to these expansion plans and the preservation of these unique alpine landscapes!
Together, we can send a strong message and ensure that the untouched glaciers of Pitztal and Kaunertal are protected for future generations.

Let's Save Alpe Devero!
At the edge of the Veglia Devero Nature Park in Piedmont, a large-scale development project threatens one of the last untouched alpine landscapes. New chairlifts, ski slopes, and artificial infrastructure endanger the region’s unique nature and biodiversity.
The Comitato Tutela Devero – supported by environmental organizations such as Mountain Wilderness, Legambiente VCO, and CAI – is calling for an immediate halt to the construction plans. The original strategy plan was withdrawn, but investors and politicians are still trying to push the expansion forward through legal loopholes.
We demand:
- No new lifts, ski slopes, or artificial structures in Alpe Devero
- The preservation of this unique alpine landscape for future generations
- A sustainable tourism model instead of further destruction
